Derived from the table cut in the 16th century, the emerald cut was a popular manner in which to facets emerald, diamond and amethyst stones as the straight edges were not prone to the chipping which commonly plagued more intricate stone-cuts. 14k solid gold paired with faceted amethyst stone and set with rope like setting.
